HOLIDAY READING, LISTENING.

With a few days holidays in the pipeline I decided to get a couple of audio books / books from my local library to idle away the spare hours.

Snow and Steel by Peter Caddick –Adams. This book is a reassessment of Hitler's last great throw of the dice: 'The Battle of the Bulge' the battle for the Ardennes 16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945. It has tweaked my interest in this particular battle and has resulted in me looking at war games on the subject. "Bitter Woods" and "The Bulge -FAB Series" top the list.

24 Hours at Waterloo -18 June 1815 by Robert Kershaw. I recently heard the author discuss this book on Newstalk, an Irish radio station. You can listen to the podcast here

A Short History of Ireland- by Dr Jonathan Bardon originally aired on BBC Radio Ulster. 'A Short History of Ireland' radio series comprehensively spans the history of the island of Ireland in 240 episodes. Well worth a listen.
